August 21, 2003:
Pat Ilderton was interviewed by Dean Stephens
about New Village Homes and some of their special
features including Caroma Dual-Flush toilets.
"If you are thinking about buying a new home
while interest rates are still low, you may want
to consider a sustainable home. They are extra
energy efficient.
Builders are working on some of these homes in
the New Village Landing in Mt. Pleasant. They
feature metal roofs and siding to deflect the
heat of the sun, and double pane tinted windows.
The architecture includes large overhangs for
shade for additional cooling, plus some unique
inside features. Sustainable homes cost more to
build, but they use less energy and are easier
to maintain, so the homeowner saves money in the
long run."

Caroma toilets are
featured in
Natural
Home Magazine
Issue: July / August 2003
Natural Home Magazine's July / August Issue
included the article "How Low Can You Flow" featuring
Caroma Caravelle dual-flush toilets. These ultra-efficient
Caroma toilets are a standard part of New Village
Homes.
A low flush toilet conserves between twenty-five
and sixty gallons of water per day each, saving
owners an estimated $50 to $100 on annual water
bills. Recognizing that less water is needed to
flush urine, "dual-flush" Caroma toilets
feature two buttons: Press one to flush feces
with 1.6 gallons of water or press the other to
flush only urine with 0.8 gallon.
Caroma's dual-flush from Australia (where this
style is mandated for all new buildings) is now
imported to the United States and are included
in New Village Homes.
